ASK TED

  • How long does a room addition take to build?

    Ted says:

Most additions take 2 to 4 months, depending on weather, permitting, and complexity. Here's a rough timeline:

    • Planning, design & permits: 2–4 weeks
    • Site prep & foundation: 1–2 weeks
    • Framing & rough-ins: 3–4 weeks
    • Inspections, insulation, drywall: 2–3 weeks
    • Finishes, flooring, trim: 2–3 weeks
    • Final walk-through & cleanup: 1 week

We’ll keep you in the loop every step of the way. Clear communication = less stress.

  • Can I live in my house during the build?

    Ted says:

Yes—in most cases, you can stay put. We do our best to keep the work area sealed off and the mess contained. Depending on how connected the addition is to your main living area, there may be some noise and dust—but we clean up daily and respect your space.

If the project affects major systems (like your kitchen or HVAC), we’ll plan around that and give you a heads-up well in advance.

  • Will the addition blend in with the rest of my home?

    Ted says:

That’s the goal. We work hard to match your existing roofline, siding, trim, and interior finishes so it looks like it’s always been part of the house.

From flooring to paint colors to window styles, we’ll help you make choices that feel seamless—and we’ll show you photos of past projects that nailed it.

  • What type of room additions do you build?

    Ted says:

Pretty much all of 'em. Common projects include:

    • Master suite additions
    • Kitchen extensions
    • Family rooms or living space bump-outs
    • Sunrooms or enclosed porches
    • Home offices or guest bedrooms
    • Garage conversions
    • In-law suites / accessory dwelling units (ADUs)

If you’ve got a space in mind—we can design and build it.

  • Will this increase my home's value?

    Ted says:

In most cases—yes! Especially if the addition adds livable square footage - like a master suite, extra bathroom, or larger kitchen. Homes with more functional space tend to appraise higher and sell much more quickly.

But we don’t just chase resale—we help you build something you’ll actually enjoy using now.

  • How do I get started?

    Ted says:

Easy—just call or fill out our contact form. I’ll come by, walk the property, talk through your goals, and talk about ideas. Once we know what you’re looking for, I’ll build you a detailed estimate and timeline so you can move forward confidently.
