ASK TED

  • How long does a kitchen remodel usually take?

    Ted says:

Most kitchen remodels take about 6 to 8 weeks from start to finish. Here’s a quick breakdown of an estimated timeline:

    • Planning & design: 1–2 weeks
    • Cabinet ordering: 3–6 weeks (depends on custom vs. stock)
    • Demo & prep: 3–5 days
    • Rough plumbing/electrical: 1–2 weeks
    • Cabinet install: 3–5 days
    • Counters (templating + install): 1–2 weeks
    • Backsplash & flooring: 3–5 days
    • Final fixtures & finishes: 2–4 days

It’s a big project—but we schedule every phase clearly and communicate constantly, so you always know what’s happening next.

  • Can I live at home during a kitchen remodel?

    Ted says:

Yes—and most of our customers do. Just be ready for a little dust and disruption. We’ll seal off work zones, protect floors, and clean up daily. We’ll also keep loud or messy work within normal hours so you can still live your life while we do our thing.

  • Will I be able to use my kitchen during the remodel?

    Ted says:

Once demo starts, your kitchen will be out of commission for a while. We recommend setting up a temporary kitchen space—maybe in the garage or basement—with a microwave, fridge, and table. We’ll help you plan for this so you’re not eating takeout every night (unless that’s your thing).

We keep the job site clean and safe—and do our best to get you back to cooking as soon as possible.

  • Can I keep my current layout to save money?

    Ted says:

Absolutely. If your current layout works for you, keeping plumbing and gas lines where they are can save thousands. That said, if your kitchen feels cramped or the flow is awkward, a small layout tweak—like moving the fridge or knocking out a wall—can make a huge difference.

We’ll show you both options so you can decide what makes the most sense. Our job is to help you weigh value vs. cost—not sell you something you don’t need.

  • Is financing available for my bathroom remodel?

    Ted says:

Yes! We partner with a few trusted financing providers who offer competitive rates and quick approvals. Whether you want to pay over time or split the project into phases, we can help you explore what works best for your budget.

We’ll never pressure you—just give you the info so you can make a smart choice.

  • How do I get started?
