J.F.Denney Plumbing & H.V.A.C Time Line
 
1952
Company was founded by John and Dorothy Denney. John was working as a plumber for the Veterans Administration Center in Leavenworth. He began working night and weekends for friends and neighbors. Soon, he was making as much on the after hours work that he quit and opened his new business. For several years he worked from his home while Dorothy had the responsibility of keeping books, answering the phone, scheduling calls and doing administrative duties.
 
1956
John's youngest brother returned from the Navy and went to work for J.F.Denney. Don Denney would learn the trade through schooling and on the job training. Don eventually worked up to being foreman, then estimator and later became a part owner of the business.
 
1963
J.F.Denney Plumbing moved the office from their home to the building at 1540 5th Avenue in Leavenworth.
 
1968
Dorothy Denney opened The Bath Shop in the north half of the building. The Bath Shop sold bath & kitchen accessories.
 
1970
John Denney Jr. returned from his service in the Army to join the company. During the 1970's the company enjoyed the spurt in new housing construction in the area by plumbing average of 125 new homes a year.
 
1984
John & Dorothy Denney decided to retire from the plumbing business. They sold the business to Don Denney & John Denney Jr.
 
1988
John and Don decided to add heating and air conditioning to the business.Very quickly Don's oldest son Joey who was working as a plumber, took an intense interest in learning the heating & cooling side of the trade. Joey became efficient in service, installation and finally estimating.
 
1997
Don Denney retired and sold his interest in the business to John Denney Jr. It was also the same time frame that John Jr.'s son Mark Denney joined the company after working for 5 years as a CPA.
 
1999
By the end of 1999 the company had grown from about 15 employees to over 26. This created a need for more expansion in the office and warehouse areas.
 
2000
The 12,400 square foot building at 76 Ash St. Leavenworth was opened.The building features a showroom,retail sales area, office space, a large employee break room, tool room, a loading dock and a warehouse that was larger than entire previous building.
 
2003
J.F.Denney took an interest in the Water Treatment Industry. They partnered up with Kinetico Water Treatment.Kinetico is a global leader in the industry and has over 500 dealers in 100 countries. Kinetico specializes in Non-Electric Green Technology for residential and commercial applications.
 
2007
May J.F.Denney  opened a satellite location at 13858 Wyandotte Rd. in Kansas City, Mo. This location specializes in providing Kinetico Water Treatment to the Kansas City Area.
